AJ Ing is a very versatile musician and educator with experience in many different musical genres, including Jazz, Funk, Latin and Blues. In 2017, he received his Bachelor of Music degree from Humber College, specializing in drums and percussion. While at Humber College, AJ had the privilege of studying with some of Canada’s most prestigious drummers including; Paul Delong, Mark Kelso and Larnell Lewis.

AJ is an award-winning drummer that has taken the stage at some of Toronto’s top music venues; The Rex Hotel, The Emmet Ray and Gate 403 just to name a few.  In 2014, he received the Mark Kelso percussion award. This year he placed third in the Artist View Music Contest for his original composition “Stout” and he also obtained the Zildjian Cymbals Bursary.

AJ has over seven years of professional experience comprising of live, studio and theatre performances. He has over five years of teaching experience in both the private sector and in group settings. Aside from performing and teaching in Toronto, AJ has also performed at Diamond Tooth Gertie’s Gambling Hall, Canada’s Oldest Casino, in Dawson City Yukon, during their 2015 season. In addition, AJ was an integral member of Cirque Canadien, performing at Canada’s Wonderland as part of the Canada 150 celebrations, during the summer of 2017.
